Oregano originates from the Mediterranean and is closely related to marjoram. Its pungency is in direct proportion to the amount of sun it receives. It grows to a height of about 20cms with woody stems and dark green leaves around 2cm long. Small, white flowers are borne on long spikes.

When to Sow Outside: In spring, 2 to 4 weeks after average last frost. Plant as late as 2 months before first autumn frost.
When to Sow Inside: 6 to 8 weeks before last frost.
Seed Depth: Press into surface of soil
Days to Emerge: 5-10
Thinning: When plants emerge, thin to 2cm apart. When 5cm tall, thin to 20cm to 25cm apart.
