ESCHSCHOLZIA CALIFORNICA Thai Silk Appleblossom (50 seeds)

Plant 30 cm high. Foliage glaucous grey blue green. Flowers 4-5cm diameter, 3-3.5cm deep, semi-double with 6-13 glossy, smooth to slightly pleated petals of variable widths. Petals Yellow, blushed and streaked with colours in-between Red-Purple and sometimes slightly darker. Stamens pale Yellow.

Foliage bluer and frillier than others and comes back well. Flowers a long time

California poppies are hardy cool weather plants and should be sown in early spring or autumn in northern areas. The seed must be sown where it is to flower and later thinned to give each plant about a square foot of space. They like well-drained, even sandy soil and flower for a long time. Cutting back after they set seed will allow them to rebloom quickly and abundantly. They are easy to grow, drought-tolerant flowers for a sunny spot and are available in a multitude of colors and forms sure to please.
